James has over a decade of experience in hair and comes from Dallas, Texas where he stepped into the hair industry as soon as he was able to legally work.

At 16 years old he found a job as a receptionist in a salon on the weekends and went on to be licensed as soon as he finished highschool In 2008. He then went right into an apprenticeship with the owner of the top salon in Dallas, Salon Pompeo, which was the home of the TLC reality show "Shear Dallas" and one of Elle Magazines top 100 salons in the country.

After completing the 12 month long apprenticeship, James was able to style hair for a number of different television and movie personalities as well as work on a number of Oscar de la Renta fashion shows and a few reality shows that were based in the Dallas area. Establishing himself as an accomplished stylist early in his career and building a rather large social media following he took his skills to Austin, Texas where he worked as an independent stylist for 5 years. James then seized an opportunity to move to San Francisco and has been a welcome part of our beautiful city since the beginning of 2021.

James is trained in the Sassoon way of haircutting and is familiar with Wella, Kevin Murphy, Shu Uemura, Kerastase, Brazilian Blowout, Davines, and Pravana.

He strives for perfection and genuinely feels that his purpose in life is to help people look and feel like the best possible version of themselves.
