 Great Hair Begins Here…

I absolutely love my job. Connecting with other humans in an intimate one-on-one setting while co-creating expression through appearance in such a vulnerable way keeps me inspired. Whether it’s catching up, problem-solving—both hair and life-related—or offering rest and solace from the physical and emotional demands of whatever you’ve been *working* on, it all fuels my passion.

Actually doing hair is, of course, a huge part of my job, and most would assume it’s the majority of it. But I’ve come to realize that delivering an impactful service starts with asking, “How are you feeling right now, in this moment? What do you want to provoke feeling like? How can I help you achieve that within yourself?”

All of this is to say, I truly love doing it all—from shaggy, wild cuts that look lived-in and perfectly untamed to precise, Nancy Kwan-inspired editorial looks. I love curls, coils, expanded shapes with bounce, movement, and attitude, as well as delicate pixies that evoke childlike wonder or timeless class, à la Audrey Hepburn. My shears know no bounds when it comes to imagination.

But when it comes to color theory, good golly gosh. Trying to explain the difference between OPI’s “I’ve Got the Blues for Red” and “Malaga Wine” is the hill I’ll gladly die on for the sake of this blurb. I’m mildly obsessed with the color wheel and using it as the incredible tool it is for your hair-coloring needs. We’ve got options! Blonding, from lived-in balayage to Barbie. Redheads, coppers, and bears***! (Oh my!) There isn’t one "specialty color technique" I claim to outshine myself—or any other stylist, for that matter—in. It all comes back to, “What do you see? What would you like to see?” From there, it’s about doing what’s best for you, your hair, and sometimes your wallet.

All of that to say, the more *waves hand in a figure-eight motion* you-ness I’m given opportunity to connect with in the chair, the more I can help you express yourself to the world—however that may feel today.
